Stars Stars show up big in Game 5 Win over AVS.
I look pretty smart here after my morning prognostications, but the Stars top scorers needed to do what they did to give Dallas 2 shots to advance.
Every playoff game day morning, I write in this space my “Pre Stars of the Game” - Dallas Stars players who need to have impact for Dallas to win the game.
I’ve been around it pretty good - but I nailed it prior to Game 5 - picking Wyatt Johnston to get off his ass and on the scoresheet, Thomas Harley to get one for the blueline, and Mikko and Roope to lead the charge offensively.
That’s pretty close to what happened, and it’s absolutely what needed to happen, as the Stars race past Colorado 6-2 in Game 5, and with it, take a 3-2 lead in the best of 7 opening round series.
Now, the Stars have 2 shots to advance. I look at it that way because that’s how it is. And it’s why 79% of teams up 3-2 go on. We get 2 shots to win one game. They have to win 2 games.
The math is with us - and we’re gonna need all the math we can get here - because we’re gonna have to earn every inch to get by this team.
Lots to like from Game 5 - and things to ponder for Game 6 and 7. Let’s go.
