Thoughts On Watching My First Complete Stars Broadcast This Season.
Comments on the team, the coach, the players - and the broadcast... I know something about that...
Start here - it’s so early. Like - beyond early. Yeah they don’t look right - not close. There’s no connectivity yet, there’s sloppy coverage and poor puck management and no continuity at all. Even in the brief snippets I’ve caught of their wins - they don’t look right. And they’re losing little races all over the ice. It’s not lack of effort - it’s just a young season with a new coach and a few injuries with a team that’s made three straight trips to the Conference Final - they ain’t that interested, engaged, or fluid quite yet - yet.
I’m a “talk to me in February or March” guy anyway. You can build habits and set systems and team build and all the rest of it all year - but it’s the late season stuff and where you’re at heading toward playoffs that matter.
And the Stars have enough skill to stumblefuck their way through the early months even if they don’t get it all completely together.
And the broadcast. Hmmm. Some thoughts here - but not the thoughts I’ve heard from fans. I do however get the frustrations I’ve been hearing about.
Let’s go over all this.
